Lobbyist Management

Challenge: 

Company needed to retain lobbyists in five states on an emergency basis while simultaneously working with its national trade association to stand up a state government relations capability. Client had no experience retaining or managing lobbyists. And, Stateside had been retained by the client only days before the need for these lobbyists became apparent. 

Stateside Solution: 

Drawing on decades of experience, Stateside retained the most appropriate lobbyists for the client, managed all contract negotiations and ethics compliance and helped the client and lobbyists throughout the on-boarding process. Because Stateside is not a lobbyist broker, lobbyists were selected solely based on their qualifications and appropriateness to serve this client. 

Throughout the engagement, Stateside services helped the client manage the lobbyists and instructed the client about tools and techniques to enable them to perform optimally as lobbyist clients.

Results: 

All lobbyists remained on retainer for a period of one year and most were then transferred to the national trade association. The company has remained a client of Stateside Associates for Issue Management and Legislative Monitoring for 7 years thus far.
