Garrett West is a Legislative Issue Manager at Stateside, specializing in business and legal topics. Before joining the team, Garrett gained political experience through the Connecticut General Assembly’s internship program. He later became a fellow with OpenSecrets in Spring 2024, where he focused on the data science side of campaign finance research and produced reports for public accessibility.

Garrett was born and raised in Connecticut and holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut. He earned an M.A. in American Government from Georgetown University, where his thesis examined the future of lobbying at both the federal and state levels.

Outside of work, Garrett enjoys spending time at the ballpark, embracing America's pastime. A die-hard fan of the New York Mets, he never misses an opportunity to cheer on his team. He is also passionate about discovering new artists and enjoys reading classic novels in his spare time.
